The HE Finance and Pay Data Review was put in place by the HE unions and UCEA as part of the 2006-09 pay agreement, with the express purpose of establishing commonly accepted data to facilitate and inform future negotiations.
The primary role of the Review Group, meeting on nine occasions between November 2007 and November 2008, was to reach an agreed view on how the established available data can be analysed so that agreed findings can be drawn.
This first ever in-depth joint review of finances and remuneration in higher education has been independently Chaired by Baroness Rennie Fritchie. Sir Bill Callaghan and Dick Coldwell CBE assisted as independent members alongside Baroness Fritchie, with employer and union representatives and independent advisers all working together.
UCEA is pleased to have participated with all the HE unions in the production of a robust report that has used a great deal of new, specially commissioned data on finance and pay. Published on Monday 8 December 2008, and launched in collaboration with all the unions, the Final Report is now available to the whole HE sector below.
