Managing the academic workforce: Global challenges & opportunities

Managing the academic workforce: Global challenges and opportunities is a major international two-day conference on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 July which will explore and debate the challenges facing higher education providers and their impact upon the management of the academic workforce.

The conference programme has been developed in partnership with UCEA’s counterparts in Canada - CAUBO/Faculty Bargaining Services - and Australia – the Australian Higher Education Industrial Association (AHEIA).

With CEO level representation from AHEIA, CAUBO/Faculty Bargaining Services and UCEA, the conference will facilitate debate around the common challenges facing HE employers, and provide a unique opportunity to explore the operation and experience from overseas of different bargaining frameworks. The event is also supported by the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

This conference is a must for senior leaders and managers in HE institutions with responsibility for negotiations and strategic decisions around the employment, development and remuneration of academic staff.

We are unable to quote precise hotel rates as they change on a regular basis. Please refer to the hotel website or contact them directly for room rates. We have observed that in some but not all cases online room rates can be cheaper than telephoning the hotel to book. We recommend that you check whether breakfast and VAT @ 20% is included in the price.

The conference takes place during the second week of the Wimbledon Championships and we recommend that you book rooms as soon as possible because a number of hotels increase their rates as the date of the championships draws nearer.
