UCEA's annual conference on the employment of clinical academic staff is a key event for strategic debate and networking amongst HR professionals and their senior colleagues involved in the engagement and management of clinical academic staff.

  2. Booking

This conference, now in its eighth year, will bring together those with a direct interest in the employment and management of clinical academic staff in higher education.

It will be chaired by Professor Debra Humphris, Vice-Chancellor at the University of Brighton and Chair of CASAG and is aimed at HR professionals, Deans and senior management colleagues from organisations that employ clinical academic professionals.

The programme is currently under development but we are aiming to cover the following issues on the day:

  • Latest news on the changes to the NHS Consultant Contract
  • Implementation of the new arrangements for junior doctors: An HEI case study
  • The future clinical academic medical and dental workforce – will there be enough senior clinical academics in the future to meet your HEI’s needs?
  • The employment landscape for Allied Health Professionals in HE.
  • Employer pension provisions for clinical academic staff – what are the options?
  • Legal Update - a presentation from Helen Mortlock, Legal Director at Eversheds Sutherland LLP on the latest relevant case law and tribunals.

The conference is expected to run between 10.00 am and 3.30 pm (registration from 9.30 am). A timed programme will be available in the coming weeks
