Immigration HR Network

The Immigration HR Network (IHRNe)

Higher Education HR professionals responsible for the recruitment and employment of overseas nationals have the opportunity to join a national network of HR professionals to share experiences and exchange information on policy and practice in this area.

There are two ways to join the network:

Immigration HR Network mail base

This is a virtual group that communicates via email. The service is free to UCEA members and once you have signed up to the mail base you can start posting questions and messages to the group as a whole. This is a quick and convenient way to find out how other institutions are dealing with particular issues or to alert colleagues on new issues or matters that may be of mutual interest.

To qualify you must be a practising HR or other professional (at any level of responsibility) in an institution with UCEA membership. You are likely, but not exclusively, to work in the HR department or elesewhere in an institution that deals with the recruitment and employment of overseas nationals.

If you would like to join the network then send your contact details by email (with your full email sign off at the foot of the email) to Nicola Carter, Head of HR Advice or Alison McGrand, Senior Employment Policy Adviser.

Immigration HR Network meetings

The second way to participate in networking is by attending the Immigration HR Network meetings. You do not have to be a member of the mail base to attend the meetings.

Meetings are interactive and informal and take place roughly two or three times a year depending on the demand.

Details will be circulated in UCEA Events emails to the Heads of Institution and HR Directors, as well as on the Immigration HR mail base.
