UCEA's annual conference on the employment of clinical academic staff is a key event for strategic debate and networking amongst HR professionals and their senior colleagues involved in the engagement and management of clinical academic staff.

This conference, now in its eighth year, will bring together those with a direct interest in the employment and management of clinical academic staff in higher education.

It will be chaired by Professor Debra Humphris, Vice-Chancellor at the University of Brighton and Chair of CASAG and is aimed at HR professionals, Deans and senior management colleagues from organisations that employ clinical academic professionals.

The full line-up of speakers is:

  • Professor David Crossman, Dean of Medicine, University of St Andrews and Chief Scientist (Health) Scotland speaking on The future clinical academic workforce – will there be sufficient clinical academics in the future to meet the sector’s needs?

  • Caroline Newman, HR Business Manager, University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine (HR Division) speaking on Implementing the new arrangements for junior doctors at the University of Cambridge: Challenges, issues and queries 
  • Helen Mortlock, Legal Director, Eversheds Sutherland will provide a Legal Update
