Performance management in a changing HE landscape

This conference will provide an opportunity for colleagues to reflect on the effectiveness of existing approaches to performance management of knowledge based workers in HEIs. Participants will be encouraged to consider what needs to change for their HEI’s performance management to bring more benefits at individual, team and institutional level.

The conference will explore:

  • New trends in performance management in knowledge-based organisations in other sectors.
  • The purpose of performance management within HEIs and the implications for design.
  • Recent research on what UK HEIs are doing regarding performance management.
  • Key issues for colleagues to bear in mind when developing performance management systems in HEIs.
  • Insight, from senior HR colleagues, to their own HEI’s approach to performance management and the challenges addressed.
  • Participants’ own queries and questions that arise throughout the day, via round table discussions.

Lunch/refreshment breaks and round table discussions will provide valuable networking opportunities with colleagues who are facing similar challenges
