HR professionals, including ER specialists, together with other colleagues involved in managing institutional employment relations issues, are invited to participate in what promises to be a hugely informative and engaging day.

Overview of the day

Managing employee relations and industrial disputes in a post TU Act world will be a unique and valuable opportunity to discuss legal advice and guidance with several national experts from Eversheds Sutherland and to hear directly from two senior HR colleagues where high profile industrial disputes brought particular challenges for their institutions.

Legal analysis and briefing from our four Eversheds Sutherland experts will be complemented by HEI case study speakers from London Metropolitan University and Manchester Metropolitan University. The university speakers will share their recent experiences of industrial dispute, highlight the challenges this posed for them as employers and provide their insights into both the trade union and employer actions and outcomes.

This event provides a fantastic opportunity to gain insights, from within the sector and beyond, into a range of ER and industrial dispute challenges and how these challenges have been approached. In light of the sensitive nature of information to be shared, ‘Chatham House Rule’ will apply on the day. Some of the content of presentations may be excluded from event documentation provided to participants and also from any case study write ups.
