University of Surrey

The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research. With a beautiful and vibrant campus in the bustling town of Guildford in the heart of the southeast of England, it provides exceptional teaching and practical learning to inspire and equip its students for personal and professional success.
Surrey prepares students for the world of work and the vast majority of its students take up Professional Training placements as a part of their degree. Known for outstanding graduate employability figures, the Higher Education Statistics Agency revealed that 93 per cent of Surrey’s 2017 graduates were in work or further education six months after they graduated. In the QS World Employability Rankings 2019, Surrey has been ranked 1st in the UK and 7th in the world for work placements and research partnerships with employers. Surrey was recognised as an ‘outstanding’ institution when it received a prestigious Gold award in the first ever Teaching Excellence Framework, which is testament to its passion for inspiring our students and preparing them for a bright future.
The University's Human Resources Department is recognised as being one of the leading HR Departments in the sector. In 2017 the Department won the UHR (Universities Human Resources) Award for Business Effectiveness Through Innovation for its People Planning Process; an integrated approach to appraisal and succession planning. The University was also shortlisted for Workplace of the Year in the Times Higher Education (THE) Leadership & Management Awards 2017.
