Central London (with a mixture of office and home working)
Starting salary in the region of £30k, with excellent benefits
The Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) is the body that represents the interests and views of UK Higher Education (HE) organisations as employers. We are a voluntary membership organisation, funded through the subscriptions of our 174 member universities. Find out more about our strategic priorities.
The coronavirus pandemic has changed the way we work and deliver services to our members. During the UK’s lockdowns we moved our range of conferences, training and member meetings entirely online. We now offer a range of in-person, hybrid and online events and activities, evolving to meet the needs of our membership.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, tech-savvy and creative team member to join our small and dedicated workforce. The new role of Events and Member Support Officer will provide outstanding support to our range of events and meetings.
In delivering this role, you will liaise with high-profile stakeholders including university vice-chancellors, HR Directors, our Board members and more. We require a confident, competent professional who can excel whether in person, in a virtual meeting, or in written correspondence. As part of growing team, there will be many opportunities to demonstrate your broader skills, from drafting marketing emails for a conference to attending member network groups and meeting HE professionals from around the country.
You will be a great team player with strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent IT literacy. You’ll be comfortable using a range of online meeting software and be quick to learn when the latest platforms are introduced. You will know all about multitasking and prioritising, working to a high standard ensuring accuracy within tight deadlines and responding rapidly to fast-moving events. Best of all, there will be a range of development opportunities for you to grasp at UCEA.
We will support you with a thorough induction so that you develop a strong understanding of UCEA’s key business activities and what’s important to our members. There is plenty of room to grow in the role, acquire new skills, undergo training, and gain experience to support your future career development. UCEA also offers an attractive set of benefits to all employees, including a generous annual leave entitlement, an excellent pension scheme, a health and fitness scheme and membership of Benenden Healthcare.
This role is offered on a full-time basis, however UCEA supports flexible working and we will consider requests to carry the role out part-time on a 0.8 or 0.9FTE basis.
