UCEA’s autumn and winter member events and meetings

For the foreseeable future UCEA will be offering member events and meetings online. When we can be assured of the safety of running face to face events again, our member events and meetings programme will offer a range of formats designed to increase the accessibility and affordability to as wide a group of participants as possible. 
The focus of UCEA’s autumn and winter online seminars, workshops and meetings will be to support member HEIs through a period of strategic change and adaptation, whilst continuing to provide updates on workforce related topics that challenge our senior colleagues in HEIs on a more regular basis.
 

UCEA’s HRD Insights

We are delighted to announce the launch of UCEA’s HRD Insights meetings to build on the success of the regular online meetings for HRDs we have hosted since March 2020.  
These 'Insights' meetings will bring together HRDs, Pro Vice-Chancellors and other senior colleagues with an HEI wide remit for workforce issues, to discuss strategic or sensitive strategic workforce issues under the Chatham House Rule.

Whilst we will announce specific dates in advance to allow for long-term diary planning, we will also schedule some events and online meetings at relatively short notice to offer our members immediate support during quickly emerging situations and policy developments.


UCEA‘s online seminars and workshops programme for wider teams 

Our programme of online seminars and workshops will keep colleagues in the wider HR team updated on more regular ongoing workforce related issues.

To increase accessibility to UCEA online seminars and webinars we have been recording events and meetings which are not covered by the Chatham House Rule. We are delighted to provide, free of charge to members, some examples of these from our Reward in Crisis: Perspectives on Pay and Reward in 2020 series of three 90-minute webinars, as follows:

A complete package - total reward during and after the Covid crisis: looks at the wider reward package and organisational environment and featured a new framework for reviewing and renewing reward strategies from reward expert Duncan Brown. An institutional perspective is provided from the University of Lincoln and an out-of-sector perspective by the Direct Line Group.

2020 Vision - Reward priorities for higher education in context: looks at the impact of Covid-19 on reward practices at two universities. It closes with a look at Korn Ferry's monthly pulse survey of reward practices at over 4,000 companies across the globe and what reward management trends we might see emerge in the coming year. 

Fair and equitable pay - A new normal?: reviews implications for reward in our sector where front line workers are in the spotlight while some executives in listed companies are volunteering for pay. It looks at both ends of the pay spectrum with the Educational Competencies Consortium (ECC) discussing job evaluation and low pay and includes a look at senior remuneration with reward consultant Chris Charman.
