Clinical academic HR network meeting

The next Clinical academic HR network meeting for operational HR specialists working in medical and dental schools will be held online via Skype for Business Thursday 2 July
The meeting will commence at 10.30 am and will run for approximately an hour, finishing no later than 12 noon.

Agenda

The agenda is still being finalised but is likely to include the following issues:
  • Clinical academics supporting the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic
  • Clinical academic pay for 2020-21
  • Local Clinical Excellence Awards in England.
  • GP pay and contractual arrangements.
The aim of these meetings is to be as interactive and practical as possible – discussing or seeking support on issues affecting HR in medical schools.
As such, please do contact Nicola (n.carter@ucea.ac.uk) with suggestions for:
  • Issues to discuss or seek feedback on from other CAHRN members
  • Examples of work that you have done that you would like to share with CAHRN members.

Joining the network meeting

To participate in the meeting you will need a laptop, tablet or telephone. If your HEI has an existing account with Skype for Business then you can join the meeting via the App.
Alternatively, you may be able to join via your web browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Safari), or via phone (audio only).

Attendance fee and how to book

Prior to lockdown UCEA responded to members’ requests for an opportunity to participate remotely in our network meetings by offering a ‘hybrid’ CAHRN meeting with some participants attending in person and some participating remotely. The same participation fee of £50 applied to participants who joined us in either way to cover the costs of arranging and supporting these meetings. This hybrid approach worked well for the meeting in March and we plan to continue that model for all network meetings when face to face meetings are possible again.
In light of the fact that the next CAHRN meeting is slightly shorter in addition to being fully remote, we will offer this at a temporarily reduced participation fee of £25.

When you book, you have the option of paying for a place by credit/debit card or to be invoiced.

When booking a place, you now have the option of paying online by credit card (note our online booking system indicates the ticket as £25).
You can of course be invoiced for the £25 attendance fee (note our online booking system indicates the invoice ticket as £0, you will be invoiced for £25).
