We are happy to confirm our next Clinical Academic HR Network Meeting.
Dates, times and agenda
Aimed for operational HR specialists working in medical and dental schools.This Network Meeting with take place on Wednesday 29 April. We will be running this CAHRN Meeting as a 'surgery' with a small panel of HR colleagues with clinical academic experience rather than the usual format. We have therefore extended the meeting to an hour an a half, between 11.00 am and 12.30 pm.
Agenda items are still being finalised but are likely to include the following issues:
- There will be no formal update from UCEA at this meeting. Instead, this is an interactive space to seek ideas for the issues that you face in employing clinical academics.
- It will run as a panel ‘surgery’ with discussions focussing on common difficulties and possible solutions in employing clinical academics, recognising there are often different approaches to the same problem.
- There will be a small panel of HR leads from medical schools, who will lead with responses to your queries. However, CAHRN members will be encouraged to share their own thoughts on the queries raised, so that we can all learn from each other.
- Please come prepared to ask and share!
These meetings aim to be as interactive and practical as possible – discussing or seeking support on issues affecting HR in medical schools. As such, it is important for CAHRN member to contact Nicola (n.carter@ucea.ac.uk) with suggestions for issues to discuss or seek feedback on from the panel or other attendees. It will also be possible to raise questions for the panel during the meeting.
Who should attend, attendance fee and how to book
UCEA member HEIs can benefit from the fee of £49 (VAT free). To ensure that as many member HEIs as possible can participate while still allowing for effective discussions, attendance is capped at 80 and each HEI can book up to three places.
All bookings must have the delegate's full name, job title and HE organisation name.

The CAHRN meetings are among our most popular events, so priority on the waiting list will be given to HEIs who do not yet have representation. Please note that we do not make audio recordings of UCEA Network meetings.
You can easily pay online with a credit card or choose to be invoiced. Our streamlined booking system makes it simple, indicating the fee as £49 (VAT free). The invoice option will show the ticket price as £0, but you will be invoiced for £49.
