Essentials of employment law

Essentials of Employment Law is a lively and highly interactive two-day online workshop on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 September. It is aimed at HR team members who have limited knowledge of UK employment law or other managers who wish to gain this knowledge.

The workshop uses real-life case studies largely based on examples from the Higher Education sector to give participants an understanding of the principles and main provisions of employment law and provides practical advice in applying the law.

The workshop will combine PowerPoint presentations with a wide variety of practical case studies, quizzes and polls to ensure interaction and engagement. There will be the opportunity to raise queries and share experiences with an expert legal tutor and with fellow participants from the HE sector.

What Previous Attendees Have Said About This Online Workshop:

  • “I would say my expectations were exceeded! Employment Law can be a fairly dry topic at times but the trainer brought it to life with fantastic case studies, participation through the regular polls he ran with the group to check understanding and his obvious passion for employment law. It was thoroughly enjoyable.”
  • “Everyone in HR should go to this course.”
  • “The trainer makes the content highly engaging and has a strong passion for employment law. I found the quizzes to be an effective way of challenging prior assumptions about the subject and a really useful way to encourage discussions. He welcomes incorrect answers and educated guesses without making individuals feel under pressure. The materials that he has provided are something that I'm sure will serve as a useful reference in future!”
  • “Brilliant course and trainer, practical and informative. Engaging throughout.”
