UCEA has completed phase one of the governance review of USS. UCEA commissioned Pi Partnership, independent governance specialists, to undertake this work. Two outputs of this work are now available:
- A Primer - This document is based on publicly available information and discussions with USS, UCU and UCEA. Pi Partnership have decided on the final form and wording and UCEA will update it from time to time. Whilst the primer is not an official document of the scheme, it is considered a helpful introductory summary for those who wish to know more about the governance surrounding the scheme.
- A more detailed, independent Articulation of USS governance arrangements - This document sets out the views and understanding of Pi Partnership and covers: the historical context of the scheme; how governance components operate in practice; and how the governance components operate collectively and interdependently. Whilst this independent articulation is not an official document of the scheme, it is considered a helpful summary for those who wish to know more about the history and governance surrounding the scheme.
