The principles of grievance and disciplinary investigations and report writing

This is a practical one-day workshop. It covers the key components of a disciplinary or grievance investigation and takes participants through the practicalities of writing the report following an investigation to ensure that the investigation and the written report contain the necessary elements to under pin a fair and impartial decision making process.

By the end of the workshop participants will understand how the investigation fits into the disciplinary and grievance framework and how to:

  • Prepare for the investigation.
  • Use questioning and listening skills.
  • Take notes effectively.
  • Carry out a fair and reasonable investigation.
  • Record findings.

Please note that this workshop covers the investigation process rather than the setting-up of panels or the hearing itself.

HR professionals and other line managers alike will find this workshop of practical use. The workshop will also offer an excellent opportunity to discuss issues with fellow participants.

Attendance at this workshop is limited to 12 participants.

The workshop takes place on Tuesday 5 November and will run from 10.00 am to 3.45 pm (registration from 9.30 am). It will take place at a central London venue.
