HE and the new immigration rules

The introduction of the new Immigration Rules on 1 December together with the end of the Brexit transition period provide immigration practitioners with challenges in getting up-to-speed quickly.   

In this online event taking place on Thursday 3 December between 10.30 am and 12 noon, Simon Kenny and Nerys Ireland, Principal Associates at Eversheds Sutherland will introduce:
  • some key features of the new immigration system as it applies to higher education;
  • common queries which have been raised and potential resolutions to these;
  • practical planning points for the end of the Brexit transition period.
The event will be chaired by Alison McGrand, Senior Employment Policy Adviser at UCEA and Simon and Nerys will be able to share recent experiences and to discuss questions raised.

Who should attend?

The event will benefit immigration HR leads including members of UCEA’s Immigration HR network and those involved in strategic HR level decisions. As this event is covering such a significant change to employment policy, we would encourage all of our member HE institutions to book places for all relevant colleagues. Therefore, software restrictions allowing there is no restriction on the number of places per member HE institution.  

Pre-questions

As we anticipate a high number of participants it will be difficult to offer the opportunity for all attendees to ask questions on the day. Therefore, the booking form has the option to pre-submit questions or alternatively you can email events@ucea.ac.uk ahead of the event. Questions that are sent by Monday 30 November will be incorporated into the presentation slides.

Attendance fee and how to book

The participation fee is £85 per place. When booking a place, you now have the option of paying online by credit card (note our online booking system indicates the ticket as £85). You can of course be invoiced for the £85 attendance fee (note our online booking system indicates the invoice ticket as £0, you will be invoiced for £85).
